Sodexo Live!, the global hospitality leader to the world’s most iconic venues and long-time partner of Caesars Superdome, has tapped NFL Hall of Fame running back and New Orleans native Marshall Faulk to serve as the organization’s Chief Flavor Officer during Super Bowl week festivities this February.
The new position serves as a full-circle moment for Faulk, who was a familiar face at the Superdome years before his professional career began. Unable to afford game tickets as a teenager, Faulk worked at a grocery store until he saved enough money to finally attend as many games as he wanted – as a popcorn vendor at the stadium.
“From selling popcorn to Chief Flavor Officer, talk about an underdog story,” said Marshall Faulk. “My mom made sure all six of her sons knew their way around a kitchen, so cooking has always been a passion of mine. Now having the opportunity to return to the Superdome with Sodexo Live! to share my love for New Orleans’ incredible cuisine, in the very stadium that developed my love for football, makes this partnership even more special.”
In his new role as Chief Flavor Officer, Faulk will work closely with Sodexo Live!’s culinary team at the Superdome to help curate (and taste-test) a special menu for the big game, brimming with the essence of New Orleans, one of the world’s most iconic food cities. Fans can expect tried and true classics from the Sodexo Live! playbook, like locally-sourced jambalaya, seafood nachos, king cake and beignets, enhanced with modern twists that celebrate the city’s diverse food culture.
“Preparing for the Super Bowl is an incredible honor and a challenge everyone at Sodexo Live! takes seriously,” said Sodexo Live!’s Regional Executive Chef Lenny Martinsen at Caesars Superdome. “We’re ready for the big game, and we’ll ensure we have something for every fan’s taste… so the food and beverage experience is as memorable as the game itself.”
This partnership with Marshall Faulk underscores Sodexo Live!’s dedication to making this year’s big game an immersive experience, celebrating the vibrancy of New Orleans and offering exceptional food and beverage options to attendees from all over the world, complete with a stamp of approval from the on-field players. From stadium suites to concession stands, and including pregame festivities at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, National WWII Museum, Smoothie King Center and Champions Square, Sodexo Live! will truly be the team behind the teams all week long.
